Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico during November 1 & 2. It is believed that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31st, and the spirits of all deceased children (angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families. On November 2nd, the spirits of the adults return to the mortal world to visit loved ones and walk among the living to enjoy the festivities that are prepared for them.
